The session, “How Can European Cinema and Film Festivals Capture the Attention of Gen Z?”, brought together students from eight universities in the FilmEU alliance, guided by filmmakers and industry experts, to present fresh insights into the viewing habits of young adults.
During the event, students revealed key research findings and showcased creative marketing strategies designed to attract young audiences to European films and festivals. Practical, innovative ways to connect with Gen Z and make European cinema a must-experience for the next generation were explored in depth.
Organized by the FilmEU+ project, which unites leading European higher education institutions to promote excellence in education, innovation, and research in Film and Media Arts, the session highlighted collaborative efforts to solidify Europe’s leadership in the global creative industries.
